If your goal is to have a designer bag, you are suffering from an unhealthy obsession. I’m sorry to break the news: Having a designer bag isn’t a right.
The founding principles of this country were not life, freedom, and Louis Vuitton. John Hancock didn’t say, “Oh let me sign this document quickly so that I can be in line at the Kate Spade Sample Sale.” Thomas Jefferson didn’t say “let’s amend the Bill of Rights — everyone should be able to carry Birkin Bags”.
The British are now fighting for their place on the Chloe Bag Wait List.
This blog is frequently asked how to find designer bags that are real and not fake. I have always given the same answer (fake designer isn’t good, too expensive designer, choose mid-priced designers such as Kooba Hype Coach etc. for high quality).
Be Fabulous for Less
The more I consider it, however, the different answers I come up with. A response that I did not verbalize before a member of the audience asked me a question at one my recent speeches.
Status is the main concern of those who are obsessed with their purse
Handbags are a symbol of success in New York, just like luxury cars are in Los Angeles. New York, as well as other pedestrian cities such London, Tokyo, and others, is the best place to display, or fake in many cases, your status. This can be done by using a handbag, (or watches for men).
After some time, I have expanded my answer. Handbags can be a very cheap way of expressing status. In the U.S., and all over the world, the current trend is to show status, such as wealth, fame, etc. What matters is showing status (wealth, celebrity, etc.). A handbag will cost you much less and be more affordable than buying a BMW, or even a house.
Capital One is a great place to get coupon codes. Here’s how.
You can also make your entire outfit look more expensive by carrying a high-end handbag. This is true even if the whole thing was purchased at Goodwill. Consider the Olsen Twins.
Owning a designer bag isn’t a right. It’s not something I think you should even aspire towards, unless it is your signature handbag. Focus on bags that suit your style instead. The right to your own personal style will always be the most important fashion right.
