Make it your goal to stick with all of your resolutions for the New Year. This is why resolutions are made, after all. Many of you want to organize and declutter this year. We know organizing a whole house can be overwhelming. Start small. You will be energized and motivated to declutter another area after you have completed the first one. We can’t imagine a more obvious place to begin than in your makeup bag. With a few simple tips, it’s easy to keep everything organized.
Organise your Makeup bag
1. Dump it Out
You read it correctly. Put a towel on the bed and turn your makeup bag over. The towel will prevent stray bits of foundation and makeup from ruining your bed. Ladies, you need to be able to identify what products are in your bag. Put like items together. All eyeshadows, mascaras and bushes should be grouped together. Put all eye shadows, mascaras, bushes etc. in one group.
2. Discard. Discard.
Check everything that you’ve put on your bed. Are there any items on your bed that are leaking? Are you using old mascara? Have you got 10 eyeliners in your collection? You forgot to dispose of your old powder after you changed it. Remove them immediately! You don’t want to take chances with your skin when you have old, dirty makeup.
3. Select Everyday Products
It’s now time to get out the makeup you use daily. We don’t recommend throwing away a beautiful, shimmery eyeshadow that you use only on special occasions. Grab a bowl or small tray and put the less-used items somewhere else. After you’re done, all you have left are the basic makeup items: eyeshadow, mascara, eyeliner and primer.
4. Double up
You can make a mental or written note of which products you could double up. You can buy eyeshadows in multiple colours or a mascara and primer all in one. Purchase items on sale to reduce the amount of accessories you carry.
5. Keep Regular Maintenance
Maintaining your organizing project regularly is the key to making it as effective as possible. Once a week, check your bag to see if your makeup hasn’t gotten dirty and if anything needs replacing. You can’t add anything to your bag until you remove something. You can treat yourself to a new bag of makeup or brushes if you maintain this healthy habit.
